Rubberstamp Records is proud to present the long-overdue debut EP of St. Louis singer/songwriter Marilyn Holland.
Mare, who describes herself as a "typical two-sided Gemini in love with music and life", is influenced by the blues, Kurt Cobain, The Pretenders, musicals, The Ramones, The Cure, "The 1812 Overture", Laura Nyro, and Todd Rundgren. She has played piano since she was 4, guitar since she was 16, and, inspired by The Beatles, began writing at 17.
An abortive guitar/bass/vocals recording session from the '90s provided basic tracks for four songs that were reprocessed to compensate for a poor mix, then overdubbed with additional instruments and vocals by the Rubberstamp Records house band and Marilyn herself.
Mare is delighted with the results and we think you will be too.
